Tatted Lace Project

I've been working on some designs for tarted lace cuffs over the last few years, and while I have made some pretty pieces, they just don't seem to sell well. Since I have been ill recently I have refocused on my tatting, and come up with a new cuff that I can make fairly quickly and for a reasonable price. These pieces are unfinished, but here are a few photos of some samples I have put together.

When the bracelets are finished I will add a chain to one side and a lobster clasp to the other. I will post more pictures when I'm done!

Frankenstein's Bunny meets The Walking Dead

Last weekend I met Big Tiny from The Walking Dead. I told him to pick out a bunny and he grabbed this one!

Blood Kiss and VampBunnies

There is a movie called Blood Kiss, written by Michael Reaves and starring Neil Gaiman and Amber Benson. It was funded via Kickstarter, and I am a proud backer. To spur on other potential backers I put this display up in my store:

And sent the awesome crew (including Daniela DiMase and Leah Civoli who are AMAZING people) some bunnies, key chains and finger puppets. And in return I got this fantastic photo.

It's too late to back the Kickstarter but you can follow the action on the official movie website: www.bloodkissmovie.com.

And to continue the theme of artists I admire posing with my art, here is Neil Gaiman with my dear friend Dean and a VampBunny finger puppet.

It has been a good, albeit weird month.

Behold the terror of B'nnthulhu!

Finally! I not only have re-stocked my fast-selling B'nnthulhu dolls (inspired by the works of HP Lovecraft), I've also taken a somewhat-respectable picture of them in decent lighting.

If you don't buy one, they will drive you insane!

A Special Guest...Neverwear!

This week I'm featuring work from a special lady: Cat Mihos aka Neverwear. You can check out her full site HERE. Once you click, you'll notice that Cat works with one of my all-time favorite authors, Neil Gaiman, bringing his work to the masses via stickers, wearables and prints. If you click the link marked Kitty's treasures you can check out her jewelry, magnets, wall hangings and pocket mirrors for sale.

I first met Cat last year, when I ordered a hat from Neverwear. (It says "Make Good Art" across the front, a line from Neil's inspiring commencement speech which you can and MUST watch HERE.) Anyway, I ordered my hat and figured it would, at some point, show up. Then I got an email from the Neverwear site, but instead of being some auto-generated "do-not-reply" email, I got a little note from Cat herself, thanking me for my order, telling me when she was shipping my hat and including her contact info in case I had any questions. I was so impressed with the personal attention I sent her back a thank you and thus a strange and wonderful friendship was born.

Cat and I still haven't met face to face...we haven't even spoken on the phone...but we send odd little care packages back and forth, full of neat little things we've made or collected. I've got a few really kick-ass t-shirts and a beautiful photo in a frame she made herself, she's got one of my little vampire bunnies and an Edgar Allan Poe lunchbox (which is a whole other story). And now I'm so excited to be selling her work in Eljay's Books!

This is just a teaser...a few photos of some of my personal favorite pieces, but there's tons more art and jewelry here in the store for you to check out yourself, and the prices are great too! If you see something here you can't live without, make sure you hurry in to get it, each piece is one-of-a-kind.
